Cut orchid stems in a vase last 2 to 3 weeks when kept in clean water and a stable temperature.
Change the water every three to four days. Orchids are less sensitive to water quality than roses but still benefit from regular replacement.
Trim the stem base by 1 to 2 cm diagonally each time you change the water, using clean scissors or a sharp knife.
Place in bright indirect light — avoid direct sun and air conditioning. Temperature stability is more important than light intensity.
Remove individual blooms as they fade, cutting the flower stem close to the main branch. The remaining buds will open in sequence.
