Shams in Vase combines fresh stems with dried botanicals in a vase. Fresh roses last 5 to 7 days; the dried elements are long-lasting.
Change the vase water every one to two days. Re-trim the fresh stems at a diagonal angle each time to maintain clean uptake.
Keep dried elements above the waterline at all times — do not allow dried hydrangea, eucalyptus, or protea to sit in water.
Position in a dry indoor spot away from direct sun and away from any steam source. Humidity softens dried botanicals and causes them to lose form.
Once fresh stems fade, remove them individually. The dried elements will continue to hold the composition and can be displayed for weeks or months.
